Kainat Akhtar is a highly motivated graduate student who is currently pursuing her studies in the field of neuroscience. Her area of research is focused on investigating the potential of peripheral focused ultrasound to stimulate the vagus nerve, which in turn can act on the neuroimmune pathway between the gut-brain-axis. She is passionate about exploring new methods and technologies that can help improve the health and well-being of people.

She currently serves as the Graduate Student Organization (GSO) President and the treasurer for the Student Council.
